Frank G. Smole

April 25, 1933 ~ April 24, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years Old

BARBERTON---Frank G. Smole, “The Best Mechanic in the World”, 82, passed away April 24, 2016. He was born and raised in Barberton and proudly served during the Korean War with the 7th Calvary.

Frank was the owner and operator of Smoles’ Auto Air. His hobby was helping people. His passion was fixing cars, which he proudly passed on to his beloved grandson Steven.

Preceded in death by his first wife Lois; step-daughter Karen and step-son Ray.  Frank is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Bonnie. Her message to Frank is “You are the wind beneath my wings.”  He is also survived by his only daughter Frankie G. Chaney (Wayne); brother Lew (Joanne); grandsons Joe (Tammy), Mike, Pat (Nour) and Steven; granddaughters Kimberly (Rich), Tina (Dwaine) and Racheal (Ray); 9 great-grandchildren; stepsons, the Brean’s, Rick (Maureen), Randy (Charlene), Mike (Tracy) and Mark (Marky); and many loving nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the girls at Cissy’s and his many friends and neighbors.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service to follow at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Lee Hance officiating. Cremation to follow with burial at a later date in June. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws and Prayers, P.O. Box 2864, Akron, 44309.
