Harold Bud Horracks

NORTON---Harold (Bud) Horracks, 76, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 with his family at his side.
Bud was born in Barberton to Harold R. and Juanita "Edie" Horracks. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Norton and was a member of the holy hour program at St. Augustine in Barberton for over 20 years. Bud was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country for two years. He was employed by Norton City Schools for 28 years and retired as a maintenance supervisor in 2002. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed gardening. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1617 and the Columbia Chemical Assoc. But more than anything he loved his family and his life. Bud was a strong talented man and was a role model for so many and his legacy will live on.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy, mother Juanita "Edie", daughter, Vickie Harper of Dewitt, Virginia, daughter Laura (Sean) Cramer of Barberton, daughter, Peggy (Scott) Campbell of Norton, and son Brian (Stephanie) of Barberton; brother Tom (Kay) of Barberton; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his father Harold R and son, Harold "Buster" R.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton. Rev. James Maloney, celebrant. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Wednesday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
