Karen Anne Rothermel (nee Boos)

Today and always we celebrate the life of Karen Anne Rothermel.  Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17th, 2018.  Faith and Family always came first for Karen.  Karen was a devout Lutheran who dedicated many loving years of teaching Sunday School at First Lutheran Church in Barberton.   Things that brought her the most happiness and fulfillment in life were her 58-year marriage to Bill, her 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and her special bond with brother Paul and Sister-in-Law Kathy.  While her physical presence may be gone from this earth, her love, kindness and mercy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Her family is grateful to all who touched her life and cared for Karen along her journey.  A special thank you to Pleasant View Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice.  Karen is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Anne Boos.  She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Bill; brother Paul (Kathy); Son, Rob (Penny); Daughters Kara (Dan), Kristen, and Kyra (Eddie); and 9 grandchildren, Kaylee, Kassandra, Klarissa, Robin, Brooke, Kyle, Kevin, Kendall, and Kortney (her angel on earth).

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Barberton, 249 Second St. NW. Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Erik Swanson officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Crossroads Hospice.
