Eugene Conner

BARBERTON---Eugene “Gene” Conner, age 94, born on January 20, 1925 in Gypsy, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 26, 2019. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Couch Conner in 1979 after 31 years of marriage, parents Robert and Sarah Conner, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his current wife Nancy Conner. They have been married for 29 years. Gene always told everyone that he had two very good wives. He is also survived by daughters Sandi (John) Sanderson and Patti White; step daughters, Candy (Chris) Marshall and Debbie (Tony Crea) Frattaroli; grandchildren, Jon (Jenn) Sanderson; Kimberly (Mike) Bargar, Renee (Jordan) Friesen, Marc White; great-grandchidren, Jonathan, Joshua, and Jillian Sanderson, Madelyn, Conor, and Maisie Bargar, and Jamie Friesen; step grandchildren, Nicki Charvat, Andrew (Amy) Frattaroli, Missy (James) Flores, Brian (Jaimi) Long, Christa (Len) Maiocco, Kiersten (Jeff) Semon; great-grandchildren, Lenny and Alaina Maiocco, Amelia, Joe, and Charlie Charvat, Jamie, Jakob and Ava Flores, Lylah and Isaac Semon, Giana and Gabriella Frattaroli, Alec, Archer, Ronny and Skyler Long.

Gene served in World War II in General Patton’s Third Army earning a purple heart and an honorable discharge. He retired from B & W after 21 years of service.           

Gene’s Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Knight officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
