NORTON--Pauline Hatala, 87, passed into eternal life on December 13, 2017. She was born to Elizabeth and Nicholas Miga and resided in Norton her entire life.

Pauline was an elementary school teacher for 20 years, teaching at St. Augustine, St. Francis de Sales, Sherman and Grill Schools. She then received a nursing degree and was a registered nurse at Fallsview Hospital for 10 years. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening and polka dancing.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Andrew V. Hatala Sr.; her son Joseph Nicholas Hatala; and her daughter Wendylynne Ann Graef. She is survived by 3 children, Andrew V. Hatala Jr., Valerie (Bernard) Trevino and Joseph (Sherry) Hatala; grandsons Jason (Laura) Hatala and Jonathan (Kristen) Wile; granddaughter Krista (Brian) King; great-grandchildren Olivia and Jaxon Hatala; and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Brookdale Barberton and Brookdale Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Pauline in her final years.

Per Pauline’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
