Raymond M. Kallio

BARBERTON---Raymond M. Kallio passed away peacefully on Friday September 14, 2018 in the arms of the love of his life for 51 years, Paula. Also by his side were his 2 daughters Maria and Dawn, and his sister Irene.

Ray was born in Conneaut, Ohio to the late Waino M. & Irja E. (Kangas) Kallio. Ray graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. Ray and Paula (Mills) were married in April of 1967, and soon began their family. While their two daughters were still young, the family moved to New Port Richey, Florida. After retirement as a case worker for the State of Florida Department of Revenue, Child Support Enforcement, Ray and his wife chose to return to Barberton. Ray loved to read and travel and had a thirst for knowledge not easily quenched. Ray and his wife Paula loved traveling and went on many great adventures together. He had a charismatic non-judgmental personality that made him adored by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.

Ray was predeceased by his parents and a brother Wayne John.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula Marie, of Barberton, OH. Daughter Maria Lynn Humphrey and her husband Roger of Woodbine, GA. Daughter Dawn Marie Kallio and her wife Lisa Brown of Orlando, FL.

Grandchildren, Kimberly N. Humphrey, Jeremy A. Humphrey, Remi J. Buttinghausen V and his wife Amanda, Matthew B. Humphrey, Devon P. Buttinghausen, Derrick T. Humphrey and his wife Alexandria, and Karley M. Buttinghausen all of Kingsland, GA.

Great-Grandchildren, Bladen W., Remi J. (RJ) VI, Joyce A. (Joy), Hudson R., Aubrey S. and many extended friends and family.

Ray’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18, at the funeral home. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Barberton Salvation Army or the Barberton Community Foundation Fund for Salvation Army Labor Day Festival.
