Sandra Kay Sheakley, 71, went home to be with the Lord on October 30th, 2018. She was born November 6, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to the late G.C. and Maisie Hodges. Sandy graduated in 1965 from Central High School, and volunteered in many capacities in her community, including as PTA president, at the voting polls, and as a leader of “Safety Town”. She was a devoted member of Kenmore Church of the Nazarene for more than 40 years, and worked as an administrative assistant at the Akron Public Schools for over a decade. Her greatest joys were singing, playing piano, quartet conventions, playing games, amusement parks, and spending time with her children and granddaughter. Sandy is now in heaven with her husband of 36 years, Art. She is survived by her son, Mark (Maria) Sheakley; daughters, Christina Stock and Jenny (Scott) Williams; and her precious granddaughter, Lauren Paige. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 3-6 P.M. at SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service will be Monday at 10 A.M. at Kenmore Church of the Nazarene, 2025 12th St. SW, with Pastor Terry Passmore officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Kenmore Church of the Nazarene.
