Albert C. Roth

BARBERTON---Albert C. Roth, born July 15, 1934 in Barberton, Ohio, died July 7, 2014 at Pleasant View Health Care Center in Barberton.


Al graduated from Barberton High School and attended John Carroll University. He was a sales representative for Amway products and would be seen frequently walking with his briefcase throughout town. He had a special fondness for the Coffee Pot, where the staff took special care of him.


Al was a quiet man of many talents and was active in many organizations both within his parish of St. Augustine and civic as well. He was an usher at St. Augustine Church, made regular Holy Hours, was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and Knights of Columbus Council 1617. He was an avid supporter of the Cleveland Indians and the Barberton High School football and basketball teams. He loved many types of music and rarely missed the Friday afternoon polka bands at the Slovene Center. Al regularly attended the Tuesday Noon Kiwanis meeting and played an active role in that organization for many years.


Al was always ready for a family gathering and there were many.


Al is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Margaret, brothers James and Joseph Jr., sisters Margaret Reiheld, Sister Mary Conrad, OP, and Lucina. He is survived by sister-in-law, Peggy Roth, special caregiver, nephew and wife John and Barbara Roth of Barberton, many other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.


Family would like to extend a special appreciation to the staff of Pleasant View and Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living, as well as Hospice of Medina for all of their care.


There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. No flowers please, memorials may be made to Barberton Noon Kiwanis, P.O Box 304, Barberton, OH 44203.
