I knew one day you'd leave us, you taught me long ago
You said you had to see the humor in life and death, that everybody goes
And if you dwell upon the sadness, you'll never make it through
You have to remember the good things, and all the love we knew
Memories of baking homemade bread, wontons on new years eve
Of homemade stockings on Christmas, and the best parties ever on Halloween
Of your talent when you made our costumes, and our awesome show clothes too
Of many fun filled years at the fair, and all the horse shows we went to
Of the guidance and advice, you taught us so many things
You gave everything you had for us, you gave us all our wings
You were the best mother a person could ask for, the best friend anyone could have
You told us like it was, but always had our backs
I'm sorry I ever took for granted, how much you mean to me
I wish I could've been there more, looking back I see
You've always been my role model, and know that when I say
If I can be a tenth of the mother you are, I know I'll be okay
I'll never be prepared to lose you, or able to forget you- there's no way
And if I could I'd keep you, to hug every single day
Please just know we love you, more than you could ever know
And that when you've gone to heaven, you'll be an angel looking down below
And knowing your personality, I think it's fair to assume
That we can expect some banging doors, or maybe you'll finally ride that broom!
We love you, we love you, we love you, but there is no goodbye
You live on in every single breath I take, and we'll see you on the other side.
