Andrew C. Gombaski, Sr

BARBERTON--Andrew C. Gombaski Sr., 85, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 10, 2014.

Andrew was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and retired from the Babcock and Wilcox Co. after 43 years as a nuclear welder. He was a member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church until its closing and currently a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was strong in his catholic faith. He loved hunting and fishing and was a proud Army Veteran. Andrew also loved his trips to Amish country with his brother George and granddaughter Katie.


Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Martha E.; children Andrew Jr. "Cookie" (Rhonda) of St. Mary's, Georgia; Michael "Corky", William (Barb), Jenny (Michael) Barclay and Steven (Jeannie) all of Barberton; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law and close friend Jill.


The family would like to thank Dr. David Stokes, Akron City Hospital, Hospice of Summa and the VA Medical Facility.


Per his wishes cremation will take place with a private burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
