NORTON--Ann (Hofius) Dutchman, age 83, died on Friday, July 17th, 2015. Ann was born February 26, 1932 to James and Marie Mastellar Hofius, in Warren. Ann lived with her beloved brother, Bob, and her parents next to her uncle's dairy in Mineral Ridge. She played the piano beautifully. She studied at Miami University, and earned her R.N. from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Western Reserve University, where she met her husband "Dutch" on a blind date at a dental fraternity party. Ann worked as an R.N. at University Hospitals in Cleveland. They married in 1955, started their marriage at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana, and returned to Barberton in 1958. For many years, Ann was a busy wife and mother. She bowled, golfed in the Tuesday night ladies golf league at Pine Valley, played bridge monthly, served with Crescent Club, planned hilarious Gyro parties, and delivered meals for FISH. She was active in the Sacred Heart Parish Altar Society and then a dedicated parishioner at Prince of Peace. She was a wonderful playmate to her grandchildren. Ann was an accomplished gardener. Her Nash Blvd. wildflower garden was spectacular. Ann is pre-deceased by brother and parents. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Raymond J. Dutchman; children, Carolyn (Bill) Titterington of Texas, Raymond (Christy) of California, Susan (Ron) Filoramo of Florida, and Jan (Brian) Dearth of Connecticut; grandchildren Leigh Anne, Lauren, Andrew, Katie, Libby, Cal, Peter and Ray; great-grandchildren Caroline and Max; brother-in-law Richard (Karen), nieces and nephews, loving extended family and cherished friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
