BARBERTON---Ann F. Pallija, 90, passed away at home on February 15, 2012 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Barberton on March 20, 1921 to Joseph & Mary Gyuris, she had been an area resident her entire life having worked for the Connie Shop, Marshalls and B&C Industries. Ann was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Elizabeth Altar Society. She was a current member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was happy to volunteer at Barberton Citizens Hospital for 24 wonderful years. Ann always looked forward to the spring so she could tend to her gardening and flowers. And she so enjoyed her granddaughters and her great grandchildren ~ they were the light of her life! Preceded in death by her loving husband, Steve and her sister Elsie McCafferty; Anne is survived by her son and daughter Tom and Nancy Pallija both of Barberton; granddaughters Jennifer (Dwayne) Green of Barberton and Teresa (Jack) Kail of Atwater; great-grandchildren Nick (Robyn) Schaefer and Tessa Kail; and great-great-grandson Layne Schaefer. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Kubula-Pilger, Fran Stazen and Marge Kezman. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of Ann's caregivers, Home Helpers and Barberton Hospice for all of the love and care they provided. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 10 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave, Barberton, Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday 4-7 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. Memorial donations may be made to Barberton Hospice.
