Anne M. (Myers) Goch

BARBERTON---Anne M. Goch, 87, passed away July 17, 2019. Anne was born November 24, 1931 in Norton to John and Mary Myers. She graduated from Norton High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation she worked at Seiberling Tire and Rubber (Bridgestone-Firestone) as an executive secretary for 29 years until the plant closed. After Seiberling closed, Anne graduated from the Akron School of Practical Nursing and went to work as a nurse for Form U3 Weight Loss Systems for 11 years until her retirement.

In her younger years she enjoyed water skiing, gardening (especially tending her flower garden beds), Polka dancing and having family and friends over for dinner parties. Anne was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Church.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 50 years, John; her sister Katie McCaman; and her dear niece Betty Santos. Anne is survived by several nieces and a nephew; Kathy (John) Beck, who she helped raise, and their children Carolynn (Bryan) Jackson and their child Luke and Patrick (Liz). She also leaves behind dear niece Gloria (Bob) Esterak, Gloria’s children Laura Esterak and Michael (Cathy) and their children Adam (Catie), Crystal (Paul), Mikey (Ashley) and Cassandra (James). Niece Sherri Lamanna and nephew Russell Tompkins. Betty’s children Dr. Roger (Mindy) Zema, David (Marie) their children Mike (Jacqueline), Del (Valerie) and Tiffany (Jerry) Smith, their children Alyssa and Caleb also mourn her passing. Anne also leaves her precious Pekinese “Tinker Toi”

The family would like to thank Summa Akron City ER staff and the third floor Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful care of Anne and our family in this difficult time. Unbeknownst to us, Anne suffered from a brain lesion for several decades.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Interment at Clinton Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
