Barbara (Polovick) Matuch

Barbara Matuch (Polovick), 75, passed away peacefully at Akron Summa Health Hospital on August 6, 2022. She was born in Hawaii on April 11, 1947 to the late Michael and Mary Polovick.

Barbara attended church at St. Francis de Sales, retired from Goodyear with 35 years of service and volunteered at Summa Barberton Hospital until she became “Granny Nanny” to her beautiful grandchildren…a “job” she truly loved.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Wayne; daughter Michelle (Johnny) Large; stepdaughters Michelle (Tim) Sovacool and Stephanie Matuch; grandchildren Chloe and Connor Large, Alaina & Johnny Sovacool and Claudia Krajncic; siblings Mary (Dick) Domanski, Michael (Cindi) Polovick, Debbie Golden and their beautiful families.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the Acute Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate and wonderful care of Barbara and family members during this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Suma Health Akron Palliative Care and Hospice Services, 525 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44304 or the charity of your choice.
