Benjamin F. Bartram

January 30, 1957 — October 25, 2023

Barberton

Benjamin F. Bartram passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the age of 66 from pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Benjamin and Donna Bartram (née Moyer); and his brother, Robert Bartram. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Regina Bartram (née Okolish); his children Andrew (Allison) Bartram, Sarah (Ryan) Reedy, and Joseph (Alexandra) Bartram. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Harry) Riddle, and many nieces and nephews. Ben, fondly remembered as Bennie to his childhood friends and family, was a proud graduate of Barberton High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Malone University and retired from McMaster Carr after more than 25 years of service. In his retirement he looked forward to having more time for baseball games, museum visits, and hikes in the Summit County Metro parks. Ben was a lifelong learner, a voracious reader of all genres, and a true history buff. He also loved sports, watching as well as playing. He really enjoyed playing in the over-30 soccer league with his father-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends, and he loved later telling stories of the escapades on the pitch. He was also a soccer coach for his son’s sports teams, and a huge fan of the Guardians, Buckeyes, and the Browns. Ben was also a passionate and talented musician; he played in his High School marching band, was a member of various rock bands throughout his life and loved jammin’ with friends. He loved many musical styles, but most enjoyed playing the Beatles catalogue. More than anything, he loved his family and the life he made with his wife, Gina. Ben always said he was proud of raising three strong and independent children, and all he wanted was for them to be happy. Ben's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 at St. Augustne Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. NW., Barberton. Private burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
