Bernard G. Harris

Bernard G. Harris, 78, was born February 9, 1946 in Akron, Ohio.  He left us while sleeping on January 20, 2025.   Bernie was a carpet installer for 30 years and worked for P&B Carpet Service and other carpet stores in the Akron area. He also worked for Neimer’s Auto Body, and companies doing repos, cleanouts, and property maintenance. He was a graduate of the addiction treatment program, and then became a member of staff performing security and maintenance duties for New Destiny Treatment Center.

Predeceased by grandparents Daniel and Josie Neel, parents Coleman C. Harris and Dorothy L. Harris, and brother Danny Harris.  Survived by daughters Shirley (Keith) Ross and Tina Harris of Barberton, and Crystal (Ray) Stevens and granddaughter Jessie of Akron.

The family thanks and appreciates the staff at Sanctuary Health Wadsworth and Traditions Hospice who loved and cared for our dad with kindness and patience.

Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 1:00 pm at Silva-Hostettler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Destiny Treatment Center, Clinton, Ohio.
