Betty Jane Homan

BARBERTON---Betty Jane Homan, 88, passed away July 9, 2011 at Summa Akron City Hospital. Born in Cambridge, Ohio she had been a Barberton resident all of her life where she retired from Sears Dept. Store. Betty was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Norton. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, reading and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph; best friend Donna Gungle; and four brothers and two sisters; Survivors include her daughters Betty Jo (Fred) Blevins of Norton and Theresa Homan of Barberton; grandchildren Joe (Brandy) Blevins, Jeff (Teresa) Blevins, John (Geri) Homan, Jenna (Matt) Hugland and Crystal Homan; great-grandchildren Hunter, Kailey, Hayden, Alyssa, Hadley, Connor, Collin, Cameron, Justin, Haley, Hanna, Drew, Seth, Tatum and Piper; and special friends Delores Young and Mary Sigley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 A.M. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Wednesday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
