Carl V. Wunderle , Jr

Carl V. Wunderle Jr., 82, passed away March 26, 2012 at the Hospice of Medina County. Born in Cleveland, he grew up in Kent where he graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School. He then lived in Ravenna for 25 years and retired to Port Clinton, OH. Carl retired from Ohio Edison after 41 years of service as a Line Clerk/Dispatcher. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton where he was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Carl was an avid fisherman, coached baseball for many years, was instrumental in starting the Ravenna Wrestling Booster Club and was involved with Ravenna Youth Football. He was also a fan of automobile racing and Cleveland Sports Teams. Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Matilda; grandsons Scott, Anthony and Todd; great-granddaughter Abbey Rose; sister Rosemary Sessions; and brothers John and Frank; Survivors include his sons Ted (Cathy), Carl III (Tammie), Andrew (Robyn) and Greg (Lori); daughter Nora (Vince) Trombetti; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his dog "Queenie". Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, 10 A.M. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton. Rev. James Maloney celebrant. Interment at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Calling Hours Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Friday morning at 9:30 A.M.
