BARBERTON---Catherine Mekina, 88, passed away November 8, 2010 at her residence.

Catherine was born in Barberton where she was a life resident and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, K.S.K.J. 111, Slovene Pensioners and the Altar Society.

Preceded in death by her sisters Margaret Welch and Patricia White; and great-granddaughter Mackenzie Brothers; Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years Frank; daughters Jennifer (Kenneth) Pokopac of Fairlawn and Eileen Johnson of Barberton; grandson Christopher Brothers of Wisconsin; Twin great-grandsons Devin and Zander Brothers; and brothers Harold (Monica) Krause of Canal Fulton and Charles (Marie) Krause of Barberton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010, 10 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours TODAY from 4-7 PM at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Thursday morning at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace Building or Maintenance Fund.
