Cecelia E. O'Brien

June 23, 1937 — September 9, 2025

Barberton

Cecelia E. O'Brien passed away September 9, 2025 with family at her side.  She was born June 23,  1937 to Francis and Elizabeth (Herold) O'Brien.  She lived 85 years of her life in Barberton, until she moved to Doylestown.  Cecelia was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she valued offering Holy Hours.  She graduated from Barberton High School.  Her career in accounting spread over 50 years working for Ohio Brass followed by Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority.

Dolores, her dear sister will miss her friendship and companionship as they spent many hours together with family traveling, playing cards and Yahtzee.  Together they were visiting angels as they traveled to see family and friends.

As we say goodbye to Aunt Cecelia, let us remember how wonderful and special she made us feel.  Aunt Cecelia was the kind of person who carried family in her heart every single day. She reminded us where we came from, and she kept us connected-not just to her, but to one another. In a family as big as ours, that’s no small feat. It takes patience and generosity and a spirit rooted in love. And that is exactly who she was. Her legacy is not only in the stories we’ll tell or traditions she passed on, but also in the bonds she strengthened. Because of her, we cousins- scattered as we may be- are tied together in a way that will last long beyond today. So while we grieve her passing, we also celebrate the life of a woman who loved without limits,
who gave without hesitation, and who left a mark on every single one of us.
On behalf of her sister, nieces, nephews, and cousins, we thank you for the love you gave so freely. We carry you with us in our hearts, and will honor you by keeping the family ties you cherished so deeply.

She is preceded in death by her brother, William O'Brien; her sisters, Amelia Rohr and Martha McCuen; her brothers-in-law John Rohr, Clarence (Bud) Rohr and William (Bill) McCuen; her nephews David Rohr and Joseph Rohr and her niece Mary Lucas.

She is survived by her sister, Dolores Rohr, sister-in-law Patricia O'Brien, 38 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
