Charlotte R. Thomas

PORTAGE LAKES---Charlotte R. Thomas (nee Burke), 82, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 12, 2012.


She was born in Akron was she was an area resident her entire life and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 13 years of service. Charlotte was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Barberton where she was active in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Magic City Singers and the Legal Secretaries Assoc. She really enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading and doing crafts.


Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Leona; and brother Walter Jr.; Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, James R.; son David (Kathleen); daughters Linda (Derek) Frazier and Elizabeth (Jerry) Sheller; grandchildren Rachael (Ben) Strickland and Jeffrey and Nicholas Thomas; great-grandchildren Leona and James Strickland; brother Wayne (Phyllis) Burke; and sister-in-law Betty Burke.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Pastor Richard Lapehn officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Barberton.
