Christina E. (Todoroff) Traycoff

January 15, 1936 — February 12, 2024

Christina E. Traycoff (nee Todoroff), has come home to rest among family and friends.

Christina passed away at her home in Midlothian, Texas with her family present. Born January 1936 in Clinton and raised in Barberton where she graduated Barberton High School. After high school, she moved to Michigan to care for her mother and raise her daughter while working long hours in a bakery. Looking for a better future for her family, she went to work at General Motors Detroit Diesel Allison plant. She was the first woman to work on the line alongside men. Later moving to the Dallas, Texas area, she worked in the aviation industry until her retirement after 30 years. She continued to stay in contact with all her former coworkers. Still not done working at nearly 80 years old, she went to work at the new Kroger deli near her home. She enjoyed spending time helping and talking to all her customers until her metastatic cancer diagnosis in September 2021. She left work to deal with her health and spend time with her kitty and family.

Christina is preceded in death by her parents Tony and Julia (Klemencsics); several aunts, uncles and cousins; She is survived by her daughter Julia Butterfield and grandsons Matthew and Michael Butterfield all of Midlothian, Texas. Her Ohio family includes her dear cousin Jean Baliga of Tallmadge and many cousins.

Cremation has taken place. Christina’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Calling Hours One Hour Prior to the Mass at the church. Private burial at Lakewood Cemetery.
