Christine Elaine (Cipar) Weigand

WADSWORTH---Christine Elaine Weigand, 54 passed away into the loving arms of our Lord on June 29, 2019. Born December 25, 1964 in Barberton, OH, she lived most of her life in Norton and Wadsworth.  She was a 1983 graduate of Norton High School. She graduated from The University of Akron with a degree in Nursing, never letting anything stand in the way of accomplishing that dream. She recently retired from Cleveland Clinic Akron General after 30 years of service. She worked on the Orthopedic and Surgical Floors and later as a Care Manager, receiving The Excellence in Nursing Award in 2002. She was a long time member and past president of the Akron Chapter of NAON (The National Association of Orthopedic Nurses). She was truly loved by many at Akron General touching many lives. She loved God, her family, her coworkers and friends and her loving dog BW. She loved crafting, card making, spending time with family, walking BW, doing puzzles and playing cards. She enjoyed the outdoors and the very special times kayaking with her dog and husband in area lakes. She always looked forward to spoiling her family during the Christmas season. She loved to bake especially during the holidays. Always making the best Pumpkin Roll and Nut Roll. A kind and beautiful soul, Christine always thought of others before herself. She was a most caring, giving and loving person. The family would like to thank Dr. Rucker, Dr. Boshkos, Dr. Kanaan, and Dr. Munoz for all of their care and love over many years. A special thanks to the Family of Amanda for their precious “Gift of Life”. Christine was preceded in death by parents Paul and Elaine Cipar, along with brother Larry. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years Robert, Father in law Robert A. Weigand, sister Kathy Thomas (Dave), brothers Paul Cipar (Pat), Dave Cipar (Dawn), and Edward Cipar (Amy).  Also beloved nieces Michelle, Ashley and Abbey, nephews Jeff, Nick, Paul, David, Nathan and Brian. Great nieces Emma, Grace, Mary Marie and Hannah and great nephews Evan and Jack. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Lifebanc.org in Christine’s memory.
