Clair W. Ashley

BARBERTON---Clair W. Ashley, 79, passed quietly from this life on March 23, 2015.

Born in Spencer, WV, the fourth of five children to Lloyd Dale and Mazel (Goff)

Ashley, Clair lived most of his life in Barberton, Ohio.

Clair served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as an

Airman 1st class from Sept 1954 to June 1958. Soon after discharge, he returned

home and married Joan Akers, settling in the Norton-Barberton area.

He worked many, many years as a material handler at Alside.

Clair was preceded in death by an infant sister Doris, brother Billy Joe,

parents Dale and Mazel, brother Eldon, sister Betty Woog, and his loving wife

Joan. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews

aunts and cousins of the extended Ashley/Akers family and his close friends,

especially Jeff, Larry, and Bob and cousin Les.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 1 - 2:30 P.M. followed by a time to share memories at 2:30 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Private burial at Manchester Cemetery.
