Colette M. Herold

BARBERTON---Devoted wife and loving mother, Colette M. Herold, 84, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015. She was born on February 27, 1931 in Leicester, England to John and Mary Stribbling. She was an award winning swimmer and accomplished seamstress. Colette boarded the Queen Mary in 1954 to visit her sisters Maureen and Philomena (Ann) in the Akron area. It was during this visit that she met the love of her life, Bobby Herold. They married in August 6, 1955, settled in Barberton and had seven children. Colette spent several years working at Cleveland Fabrics / JoAnn Fabrics in the Magic City shopping center and at The Bridal Boutique in downtown Barberton. She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church and currently a member of Prince of Peace in Norton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby, brothers Leo and Bill, and sisters Maureen and Mary. She is survived by brothers Peter and Tony, sister Anne, daughters Bobi, Tricia (Christopher), Colette and Leslie, and sons Vincent (Lisa), George and Jim (Julie), twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Altercare Wadsworth and Absolute Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Interment at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery . The Rosary will be said at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 followed by Calling Hours from 6-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Wednesday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. or Altercare of Wadsworth.
