Daniel P. Borotkanics

DOYLESTOWN---Daniel P. Borotkanics, 85, passed away June 9, 2014.


Dan was born in Barberton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1948. He retired in 1991 from Manchester School District after 20 years of service. Dan was a lifetime member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army Corporal and a veteran of the Korean War. He was also an avid gardener.


Preceded in death by parents; his first wife Elizabeth; and his ten siblings; He is survived by his wife Doris A.; sons Daniel (Kathie); Paul (Lisa) and David; daughters Cathy (Paul) Spidell and Susan (Scott) Rennick; stepdaughters Cathy (Steve) Howe, Vicky Olis, Becky Jereb, Cindy (Jim) Richmond and Roberta Jereb.; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; and 17 step great-grandchildren.


Burial Service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 1051 E. Robinson Ave., Barberton, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Fr. Miron Kerel-Kmec officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Parastas Service will be held TONIGHT at 6:00 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Nicholas Church.
