Darcie Lynn Layne

Darcie Lynn (Moneypenny) Layne, age 45, of Wadsworth, OH, passed away after a short, courageous battle on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, surrounded by loving family.

Darcie was born on December 12, 1980, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Sarah (Durile) Moneypenny and Michael Moneypenny Sr. She was a graduate of Rittman High School, class of 1999.

She will be remembered for her kindness and open heart. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcome. Her favorite times were spent surrounded by friends and family, eating delicious food she made. She enjoyed spending Sundays with family playing cards at her dad’s house or out golfing.

Above all else, Darcie’s greatest joy came from her children, Courtney, Caleb, and Aaron. She poured so much love and effort into everything she did for them, from homemade birthday cakes to overflowing stockings and Christmas trees; she kept the magic alive well past their childhood. At every baseball game, cheer recital, and school party, she was found on the sidelines cheering her kids on, bringing snacks for everyone, and running fundraisers.

Darcie is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah (Durile) Moneypenny, and her father-in-law, John P. Layne.

She is survived by her loving husband, John D. Layne; her three children, Courtney Layne, Caleb Layne, and Aaron Layne; her father, Michael Moneypenny Sr.; and her siblings, Alecia Moneypenny, Scott (Scotty) Moneypenny, and Michael Moneypenny Jr.

There will be a celebration of life held for Darcie on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Galaxy Restaurant, 201 Park Center Dr, Wadsworth, OH 44281, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
