Darlena M. (Kenner) Wise

Darlena M. (Kenner) Wise 82, passed away May 23, 2025 in her sleep with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Barberton and Norton and graduated from the Barberton Class of 1961. Darlena was known for her baby blankets she made for Akron Pregnancy Services and the hats she made for students in Barberton and Norton Schools.  She loved to sew and help the community and was a collector of sewing machines and material. Her favorite saying was “the one with the most material, Wins !” Darlena was a member of Barberton Church of Christ for many years, Sherman Church of Christ and currently a member of Southwest Church of Christ.  She was also a member of Sunshine Girls, Pythion Sisters and Red Hat Society. Preceded in death by her husband Gerald Wise Sr.; son Greg Trenary; and grandson Jason Trenary, Darlena is survived by daughters Kimberly and Danielle; sons Mike, Mark, Jerry Jr and Steve Wise. She also leaves behind 17 plus grandchildren and 17 plus great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and family. Special Thank you to Chauncey, Chauncey III, Dalton, Jonathan, Jordan, Trudy and Heidi for their care especially these last 5 years. Darlena’s Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Please wear joyful and bright colors. Cremation will take place after. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southwest Church of Christ, 516-33rd St. SW., Barberton, OH 44203.
