David E. Collinson

BARBERTON---David E. Collinson, 60, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 12, 2017. David was born in Akron and had been an area resident all his life where he graduated from East High School. He retired from Goldsmith and Eggleton. David loved playing golf and watching it on T.V. as well as playing softball for many years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working outdoors and gardening and was active in the Barberton Relay for Life. He will be missed by all his cat’s especially “squeak.” Preceded in death by his mother Juanita Collinson; Survivors include his beloved  wife of 23 years, Nancy E.; father Marvin (Ella) Collinson; sister Dixie Collinson of Owensboro, KY; brothers Gary (Pam) Collinson of Tallmadge, Jim (Bonnie) Collinson of Akron and Tom (Mary) Collinson of Phoenix; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Rina Shere officiating. Interment at Rittman Cemetery.
