David Fletcher, born February 9, 1944, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026. His 82 years were marked by resilience, service, and a deep commitment to caring for others.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen; his son, Bryan, and daughter‑in‑law, Jessica; and his cherished granddaughters, Gemma and Cora, who brought him endless joy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; his father, Robert; his brother, Robert; and his mother‑in‑law, Dorothy.
A proud graduate of Coventry High School and the University of Akron, David went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. His dedication to helping others guided him into a long and meaningful career in nursing, where he cared for countless individuals with compassion and skill.

David found great purpose in giving back to his community. He volunteered at the St. Augustine Soup Kitchen, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care, offering his time and kindness wherever it was needed.
A special and heartfelt acknowledgment goes to Maggie Stewart, whose extraordinary gift of a kidney extended David’s life by 22 years. Her generosity allowed him decades more with the people he loved, and his family will be forever grateful.
