Dawn E. Marks

Dawn E. Marks, 65, of Barberton, Ohio passed away October 25, 2026. After a long hard fought battle, cancer won.

Dawn was born in Akron on June 215, 1961 to the late Elsie King Metz and Bruce Metz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Vaughan; sisters Diane Stopher Vaughanand Debbie Angles. Left to treasure her memory are her sisters Debbie Cook of Barberton with whom she lived, Denise (Dave) Keller of Wadsworth; brothers Steve Metz of Massillon and Darrin Vaughan of Williamstown, WV; two sons Joshua Tanner of Ivydale, WV and Matthew Marks of Duck, WV; her grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

A special thank you to Davi Jo Collmar, her niece/caregiver and Post Acute Care for all their compassion, thoughtfulness and and going above their job duties to make Dawn's last days as comfortable as possible. Also to Sharon Kinsley Turner for her years of love and friendship.

Dawn considered West Virginia and Ohio both her homes. Dawn was a caring and passionate person with a big heart. She loved the elderly and less fortunate. She was never judgemental and no matter the choices in her life, right or wrong, she claimed them as her own. She loved to craft and always greeted you with a smile.

Per Dawn's wishes there will be no services. Her cremains will be laid to rest in the King Cemetery, Calhoun County, WV.
