Deborah K. Acker

Deborah Kay Acker, 58, from Barberton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2023, at her residence.

She was born November 18, 1964, Barberton, Ohio to the late Janet (Elliott) Panter. She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1982 and obtained her LPN license from the Wayne County School of Nursing. She had worked for Altercare in Wadsworth, Brookdale in Fairlawn, and more recently ManorCare Health Services in Barberton.

Debbie loved being a nurse and took joy in caring for others. She also enjoyed crafting, making ornaments and blankets, being a band booster and school mom to her grandchildren, and spending time with her family and her cat, Maggie.

She is survived by her daughters Ja-Lyn (Anthony) Gipson of Barberton, and Samantha (Nate) Stephens of Rittman; grandchildren Ashley Acker, Tristan Acker, and Jaden Gipson; brother Rick (Allecia) Acker of Rittman; and niece Ashlee Acker of Rittman.

Per Debbie’s wishes, cremation will take place. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
