Debra L. Nicholas

Debra L. Nicholas, 57, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2026. After a long courageous battle with cancer.

Debra was born April 21,1969 in Akron, Ohio to Howard and Helen Werntz. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Debra enjoyed attending summer concerts, spending time at the beach, and making memories with her family. Her grandkids were her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Known for her generous heart, Debra would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

She is proceeded in death by her father Howard Werntz, her son Michael Nicholas, brother Donnie Werntz, her sisters Diane Bender and Delores Nixon.

She is survived by her children Ashley Werntz, Amanda Clemetson (Doug Crihfield), Austin Nicholas (Ashley). Her mother Helen Werntz. Her siblings Dennis Werntz (Annalee), Dorothy Davis (Jerry), David Werntz, Darlene Hostetler (Tom), Donna Johnson, Denise Knapp (George), Dan Werntz. Her grandchildren Robbie, Serenity, Alyvia, Paislee, Jaxson, Jayce, Oaklyn, River, and Memphis. She was an aunt to many nieces, & nephews. And her devoted companion Mark Skaburn.

Debra is remembered for her kindness, strength, selflessness, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Memorial Service for Debra will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Calling Hours will be held ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service at the funeral home.
