Delores Nixon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Delores was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles, her son Steven, her father Howard, and siblings Donnie and Diane. She is survived by her mother Helen Werntz, her children Angela (Scott) Cart, Glen (Barbi) Nixon, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and her siblings.
A proud graduate of Garfield High School, she continued her education at the University of Akron, where she earned a degree in business. Throughout her life, she valued learning, hard work, and the importance of family. She cherished spending time with her husband and loved gathering with family at their property in southern Ohio; where many treasured memories were made. Whether enjoying quiet moments together or celebrating special occasions, family was always at the center of her life. She had an adventurous spirit and found joy in exploring the world around her. She especially loved taking walks and revisiting the cities of her childhood, sharing stories and memories from years gone by. Her curiosity, appreciation for simple pleasures, and love of adventure inspired those around her. While she was known as “Mom” and “Grandma” to many, she was affectionately known as “Aunt Annie” to others. No matter the title, she brought warmth, kindness, wisdom, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, lifelong learning, and a deep appreciation for life’s adventures. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her and will be cherished for generations to come.
