Dolores F. Witkowski, age 99, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, in Akron, OH. She was born March 19, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Ceranska) Nowak.
A lifelong resident of the Buffalo, NY area, she lived her final years in Akron, OH. During her high school years she became a beautician. Later in life she worked at Sahlen Packing Co. for 25 years and in Akron she was a proud volunteer at Akron Children’s Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, gramma and great-gramma, and a true friend to many. One of the things she enjoyed more than any other was to gather with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and share stories of her life, which meant the world to all of them.
She is survived by son Stephen (Rosemary) Witkowski, daughter Geraldine (David) Sexton, son Kenneth Witkowski, and son-in-law Robert (Mary) Wantuch; grandchildren Shannon (Bimal) Melwani, Troy (Emily) Sexton, Brian (Melanie) Sexton, Kenneth (Elena) Witkowski II, MaryAn Witkowski and good friend Jeff Platt, Jonathan (Taylor) Wantuch, Andrew Wantuch and good friend Shana Cuff, plus great-grandchildren Asha Melwani, Claire Sexton, Abby and Kenneth Witkowski III, Aiden, Devin and Jeremy Platt-Witkowski, and Aurora and Adeline Wantuch.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank Witkowski, her daughter Christine (Robert) Wantuch, daughter-in-law, JoAnn Tomczak and her brother, Frank (Janice) Nowak, Jr.
She will be missed by all who loved her but she has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Dolores' Memorial Mass in Ohio will take place at Prince of Peace Church, 1263 Shannon Avenue, Barberton, OH, 44203 at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Greeting in the vestibule at 12:30 p.m. or at the luncheon in the school building following the service. A slide show will take place at the luncheon to celebrate her life. Her Memorial Mass in New York will take place at Most Precious Blood Church, 22 Prospect Street, Angola, NY, 14006 at 10:00 a.m. next Friday, June 28, 2024. Breakfast will be served at the Lake Erie Beach Fire Hall, 9483 Lake Shore Road, Angola, NY, 14006 following the service where greeting will take place as well as a slide show to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dolores’ memory to Akron Children’s Hospital, 214 W Bowery Street, Akron, OH, 44308.
