NORTON---Don Berlin passed away October 17, 2015; he was 84 and a life resident of the local area. He supported the F.O.P.A. Lodge 18 for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 759 and a proud Navy Veteran. Don was a man of many talents. He was a master carpenter and builder; there wasn't a job he wouldn't tackle. His work remains in many homes in the Barberton area. The Berlin Motel was one of his greatest accomplishments; He owned and operated the business for 22 plus years along with his wife Naomi Jean. They worked side by side creating a legacy until they retired in 1988. Don loved to hunt, he and his sons, grandsons and brothers went on many outings together. Fishing was also a love of his. The walleye tournaments were a summer passion. He took great pride in getting the biggest catch and the bragging rights that came along with it. Don loved life; he loved people and was a friend to everyone. This was a result, I'm sure of having 11 brothers and sisters. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife Naomi Jean, together they had five children. He is survived by Bruce (Karla), Keith (Marcia), Regina (Scott) Brown, Bryan (Robbin) and Kenneth (Barbara); wife Nancy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers ; one sister; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Barberton F.O.P.A #18, 5754 Cleve-Mass Rd., Clinton, OH 44216.
