WADSWORTH---Donald E. Diefendorff Sr., 83, passed away September 25, 2014.



Donald was born in Norton and was an area resident all his life where he retired from Com Doc after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church where he was active in the Holy Name Society. He was a past president for the Norton Lions Club and the Norton Band Boosters. He was also a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Donald lived and loved his faith.


Preceded in death by his parents Earl and Edna; brothers Russell, Everett and Howard "Red"; sisters Wilma and Edna; first wife Dorothy Lees; and great-granddaughter Olivia; Survivors include his "love" of 32 years Katharina "Katie"; children Diane (Daniel) Simko, Darlene (Tom) Warsinskey, Donald Jr. (Beth), Debra (Tom) Towner and Mike (Tonya) Ripplinger; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Paul (Mary) Hehn; and many great friends.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton. Fr. James Maloney celebrant and Fr. David Misbrenner con-celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Sunday from 4-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Monday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Food for the Poor or Akron Children's Hospital Hematology/Oncology Dept.
