Donald E. Kondik

NEW FRANKLIN---It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Donald E. Kondik, 75, on January 21, 2014.


Don was born in Barberton to the late John and Anna Kondik and was a life long resident of the Akron area. He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in 1998 after 40 years of service. He was a lifetime hunter and fisherman. In his retirement he loved to travel with his longtime companion Norma. He also enjoyed playing euchre at the Barberton Moose.


Don is survived by his sons Timothy and Jason (Joanna); brother John; sister Suzanne (Dave) Stephens; companion of 30 years Norma Yanik; granddaughters Lindsay and Sydney; and stepsons Craig and Mike Morr.

Calling Hours will be held from 2-4 P.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Per his wishes cremation to follow. The family requests NO FLOWERS. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
