Donald "Verne" L. Forst

BARBERTON---Donald “Verne” L. Forst, 96, passed away March 3, 2022.

Verne was born in Barberton where he was a life resident of the Norton/Barberton area. He retired from the Babcock and Wilcox after 40 years as a drafting group leader and was awarded two patents. Verne was a member of First Lutheran Church of Barberton and was a proud Navy Veteran serving during WWII.

Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Wilma; son Donnie; and granddaughter Lisa; He is survived by his son Randy (Janet); daughter Kathy (Bob) Eckell; along with 6 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living for all their care and compassion to Verne for the last 6 years.

Verne’s Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 14th at 12:00 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Pastor Erik Swanson officiating. Calling Hours ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
