Donna M. Deane

BARBERTON---Donna M. Deane, 81, passed away September 2, 2022 from a brief illness.

She was born in Ashland, OH, the daughter of Jeptha M. and Dorothy Smith Deane. Donna was a graduate of Ashland High School and Ashland College.

After time spent in Philadelphia, Donna spent the rest of her career as the well-respected blood bank supervisor for Barberton Citizens Hospital, retiring with 40 years of service. Donna loved to sail and golf. She enjoyed all that Cleveland sports had to offer, especially the Indians, Browns, Cavaliers and Buckeyes.

Donna is survived by her sister-in-law Charlene Deane of Jacksonville, FL; niece Holly Cronau (Jefferson) of Port Clinton, OH; nephews Scott (Mary Lou) Deane of Jacksonville, FL, Doug (Tonya) Riedel of Powell, OH, Steven Deane of Coal City, IL and Todd (Loretta) Deane of Bremerton, WA; several great nieces and great nephews; and special friends Wane and Mary Jo Goss and family. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sister Norma (Daryl) Deane; and brother Charles Deane.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. NW., Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Akron Children’s Hospital or the Barberton Community Foundation Salvation Army Fund.
