Dora L. (Scott) Balash

NORTON---Dora Leigh Balash, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 with her family at her side.

Dora was born in Barberton to Dewey and Edith Scott. She attended St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was involved in the Holy Hour and Funeral Luncheon Programs. Dora enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting, but her greatest joy was being with her large family.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Edward, grandson Caiden Balash, sisters Joanna Wells and LaDonna Arnold and sister-in-law and good friend MaryAnn Sabo. She leaves behind her six children, Edward Balash Jr. of Norton, Bob (Martha) Balash of Norton, Laura (Scott) Dority of Uniontown, Jeffrey (Brenda) Balash of Massillon, Judee Balash of Cuyahoga Falls and Julee (Brad) Miller of Randolph; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and half-sister Carole Cherry of California.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
