Dorothy M. (Herold) Purdy

Dorothy M. Purdy, 87, passed away June 9, 2022. Dorothy was born in Barberton where she was a life resident and worked at Midwest Rubber Reclaiming. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church and the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians where she was a past State President and held numerous other offices.

Preceded in death by her husband Larry; parents Joseph and Mary Herold; brothers Robert, George and Paul; sister Patricia; niece Mary Herold; and stepson Fred Purdy; She is survived by her son Joe (Melissa) Purdy; stepdaughters Betti Jean Shamouradian and Linda Lester; stepdaughter-in-law Judy Purdy; “adopted daughter” Cherie Gipko; sisters Joan and Janet Herold; brothers Charlie (Barbara) Herold and Jim (Cathy) Herold; sister-in-law Patty Herold; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. NW. Barberton. Fr. Bill Browne celebrant. Calling Hours on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Private burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
