Dortha Irene (Eckart) Stockton


BARBERTON---Dortha Irene (Eckart) Stockton passed away at the age of 91 on April 12, 2010 at Summa Health Systems Barberton Hospital after a long illness. She was born to Herbert and Irene Eckart in Shreve, OH. In 1933, the family moved to Barberton. She married Horace Stockton and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1947. After her husband's death in 1968, she continued running their Duke City Gravel Company for a number of years. She returned to Barberton in 1977 to live with her sister. She was a member of the Columbia United Church of Christ of Barberton since April 21, 1935. Dortha is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Betty Stockton, granddaughter Kimberly and husband Dusty Clayton; great-grandson Christopher Clayton; sister Eileen Anderson and nephew David Anderson and wife Gladys. Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
