Douglas E. Headrick

Douglas E. Headrick, 70, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 21, 2026 with family beside him.

Douglas grew up in Barberton and knew everyone around. Everyone who met Douglas loved him. He had a sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. Douglas lived in Akron for the last 25 years and built a new group of friendships. Although Douglas was deaf and mute, he was able to communicate with those he built a rapport with.

Preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers, and sister. He is survived by his siblings James Headrick (Kim), David Headrick (Kathy), Sue Jackson, Libby Sampson, Elmer Jr. Headrick (Dawn), Eddie Headrick (Melanie), Gary Headrick (Becky), special friend and caretaker, Adam Zents and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the staff at Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Adam Zents for their care and support of Douglas.

Douglas’ Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Road W., Barberton. Pastor Rod Grabski, officiating. Calling Hours One Hour Prior to the service. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
