Drew F. Koncz

BARBERTON---Andrew F. Koncz, 62, passed away April 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Drew was born of February 23, 1954 to Andrew and Violet Koncz. Drew’s hard work ethic began at a young age bussing tables, working at Seiberling Tire and Rubber and enjoyed running Koncz’s Five Sons Sports Grille with his four brothers. His passion was owning his own business which was Barberton Wheel Alignment for over 30 years. He married his wife, Kathryn A. in 1976 and dedicated his life of 40 years with her. They had three beautiful and caring children. Drew was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Koncz and Violet Koncz Roop and his father-in-law Andy Krochta. Surviving are his loving wife Kathryn; son Andrew (Jacqueline); daughters Stacy (Nathan) Robinson and Laura Smelser Koncz; grandchildren Cayden, Paige, Andrew, Mason, Parker and his unborn granddaughter. He also leaves his brothers Dave (Denise), Jeff (Gina), Dean (Debbie) and Don (Joy); mother-in-law Marilyn Krochta; brothers-in-law Tom (Sandra) Krochta and Frank (Claudia) Krochta; as well as many nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, amazing friend and life of the party. Drew’s contagious gift of building friendships will never be forgotten. He will be forever grateful for the outreach and support of his cherished friends as he embraced them into his circle of love. They will always be remembered. Drew had an adventurous side that was unimaginable. He traveled the paths where everyone else feared to troll. He loved the thrill and excitement of the unknown. His faith in the outcome was never a setback. His spontaneous acts of kindness and behavior left many smiles on many faces. May Drew’s youthful spirit of life travel with many through the years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday April 25, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204–6th St. NW, Barberton.  Fr. G. David Bline celebrant.  Calling hours Sunday from 3-7 PM at the SILVA–HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 WOOSTER RD. WEST, BARBERTON.
