Edward "Sonny" W. Hughes

BARBERTON---Edward W. “Sonny” Hughes, 85, passed away September 17, 2021 at his residence. Sonny was born in Sherman and had been an area resident all his life where he retired from Barberton Citizens Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Barberton. Sonny was a car enthusiast and was a member of numerous car clubs. To his family, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth; son Charles (Sue); daughter Deborah Hughes; grandchildren Ian Hughes and Autumn Marthey; great-grandson Tristin Snyder; and his best fur friends Louie and Jake. Sonny’s Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Summit County Humane Society.
