Edward W. Stopar

BARBERTON -- Edward W. Stopar, 76, passed away February 27, 2010 at Akron City Hospital. He was born in Barberton where he was a life resident retiring from Babcock and Wilcox Co. after 35 years of service. Ed was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years, KSKJ #110, the Domovina Lodge and Knights of Columbus 4028. Preceded in death by his brother, Anthony; and sister, Rose Valovcik; survivors include niece, Cathy Valovcik; nephews, Jim (Judy) Valovcik, Mark (Mary Jo), Craig (Annette) and Anthony Stopar; many great nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, 10:00 A.M., at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday 5 to 8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton where prayers will be said Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
