Edward J. Zak, 88, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2012 at his residence.


Ed was born in Barberton and was an area resident all his life retiring from P.P.G. Chemical Co after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church and the Slovak Catholic Sokols 167. Ed was also an avid musician and belong to the Rubber Capital Harmonica Club.


Preceded in death by his first wife Betty; brother Cyril; and sister Cecelia Klaus; Survivors include his wife Clara (Morckel, nee Harper); sons David (Diane) and Edward (Sue); daughters Margaret (Thomas) Finan and Kathleen Zak; four step-children; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, 12:00 P.M. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton. Rev. James Maloney, celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday Morning from 9:30-11:30 A.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said at 11:30 A.M.
