Elizabeth C. Schick

Elizabeth C. Schick, born July 7, 1925, left on her happy homeward journey on September 6, 2011, after a loving send off from her children.

Elizabeth was a faithful and loving wife, who adored her husband. She was the most generous and gentle Mother, treating each of her seven children as if they were the only one. A gracious beautiful woman whose kindness blessed everyone she met. She was the anchor of our family, keeping each of us well informed and connected with each other. She enjoyed preparing delicious meals, was an accomplished seamstress, and maintained a warm and lovely home, where all were welcomed as family.


She enjoyed her dearest friends from "club", who she loved throughout her life.


Her love and reverence for God made her a precious source of comfort and unconditional love to us all. Elizabeth's life is one of the most treasured gifts given to our family, and we will be eternally grateful.


Elizabeth leaves her loving influence with her children, William (Victoria) Schick of North Carolina, Pamela (Bruce) Reynolds of Arizona, Kathleen (Reginald) Owens of Arizona, Thomas (Eva) Schick of Manchester, Patricia Black of Wadsworth, John Schick of Columbus and Karen (Fitz) James of Barberton. She leaves 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by cherished sister, Shirley Reikert and beloved sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth (Bernard) Petty all of Arizona.


She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas E. Schick, granddaughter Erin Schick, brother Robert Reiker, and parents Floyd and Carrie Reiker.


Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011, 9:00 am at SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West Barberton with 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
