In Loving Memory of EvyLynn Genet Hewitt September 17, 2005 – July 21, 2026

EvyLynn Genet Hewitt came into this world on September 17, 2005, looking like a porcelain doll, and from the very beginning, her beauty radiated far beyond her appearance. Her gentle heart, compassionate spirit, and unwavering kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Evy loved deeply and cared fiercely. She had an incredible gift for making others feel seen, loved, and comforted. No matter what she was facing herself, she always managed to wear a beautiful smile, offer an embracing hug, or say just the right words to brighten someone's day. She will forever be remembered for her radiant smile, contagious laugh, and the warmth she shared so freely.

Nature was one of Evy's greatest joys. She had an extraordinary love for animals and all living things. She never met a creature she didn't want to rescue, often attempting to sneak home the latest animal she had found on one of her adventures, including, much to her family's surprise, even a spider. Whether it was carefully moving a snapping turtle to safety while on vacation in Hilton Head or stopping to help any animal in need, Evy's heart always led with compassion.

She found peace in life's simple moments. She loved listening to records, getting lost in books of every genre, and expressing herself through writing. Poetry became a place where she could pour out her heart, finding comfort in turning her thoughts and emotions into beautiful words.

Evy also had a playful spirit and a love for all things Grinch. No matter the season, she could often be found proudly wearing her favorite Grinch attire, bringing smiles and laughter to those around her.

Above all else, Evy cherished her family. She treasured quiet moments spent with her siblings and adored making memories with them and her cousins. Her love extended to each member of her family, and she had a remarkable way of making everyone feel important and deeply loved.

EvyLynn is survived by her loving parents,Dave Hewitt and Krista Basone, stepfather, Jeff Basone her older brothers, Nicholas Hewitt and Tony Hewitt; her sister, Delaney Hewitt; her younger brothers Trevor Basone and Landon Basone; grandparents, Frank Genet Jr and Lynn Dies; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She also leaves behind her rambunctious dog, Moe and beloved cat, Bob, who will forever miss their mama's snuggles.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Evy's beautiful life during calling hours on Friday, July 31, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00pm at Grace Church Montrose Campus Location, 565 S. Cleve-Mass Road, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Private burial will take place Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In honor of Evy, please wear something Green which was her favorite color. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any local animal shelter in Evy's memory. There is perhaps no more fitting tribute than extending the same love and compassion to animals that Evy showed every single day of her life.

Though her time with us was far too short, Evy's love, kindness, and gentle soul have left an imprint that will never fade. She reminded us to care more deeply, love more freely, and always stop to help those, whether people or animals, who need a little kindness. She will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
